Rehabilitation

With this initiative, our goal is to support the welfare of animals in need. With the support of our dedicated community, our Rehabilitation efforts go a long way. Learn more about this initiative and how you can help.

The Application - Please fill out and submit our online application. You will find it below our adoptable dogs on their page. We will contract you within 48 hours regarding your application. Please DO NOT submit an application until you have written permission from your landlord or a copy of the rental agreement. Also, be prepared to send pictures of your home on a case by case basis. Average process time to totally approve an application is 2-5 days.

The Meet - All members of the household (including other dogs, but please leave resident dogs in the car at first!) meet the MSMR dog at a mutually agreed upon location. You will meet with the dog and their foster to learn more about the dog.

Decision Time - Now is the time to sleep on it! Go home and talk as a family to make sure that the dog is a good fit for your family. Once you have made a decision, please email us the decision you have come to, yes or no! Adoption is also dependent on the foster feeling it is a good fit as well. We need an answer within 24 hours otherwise we will be moving on to the next family.

Contract & Paperwork - If the potential adoption is considered a good fit, we will contract you to move forward with the adoption. You will fill out our adoption contract which outlines our policies and procedures regarding the adoption. This contract can be viewed at the bottom of this page.

Adoption Fee - We incur significant expenses to rescue each dog in our care, and our adoption fees help us to recoup a minor part of those costs. Adoptions fees vary depending on each dog, but are usually $150-500. The adoption fee is due at the time that the contract is signed. We DO NOT take payments. Absolutely no exceptions will be made regarding this. The fee can be paid via PayPal, Venmo, Cash, Check, or Credit Card (5% fee does apply for credit cards).

* Please note that we are unable to make any guarantees of future health, temperament, size or breed of your adopted dog. We do our absolute best job to provide the most accurate information based on what we know, but rescue dogs are a true wild card!

All of our fosters and volunteers work, have families, foster dogs, as well as pets of their own so please be respectful and patient of their time! We will get back to you as soon as possible!
